BUSCHUR RACING 3" EXHAUST INSTALL

13mm Deep Socket
14mm Socket
17mm Socket

Phillips screwdriver
Adjustable Wrench (For O2 Sensor)

Jack the car in locations designated in the manual. Place jack stands underneath for safety.
Do not rely on the jack to support the car.

The install can be completed without removing the plastic underpinning or access panel. It will be a little easier to get to the downpipe bolts, but not necessary.

Step 1: Remove old exhaust
The exhaust is attached to the car via exhaust hangers. These hangers are located right after the downpipe and near the muffler. All but one hanger near the muffler can be removed by removing the bolt and nut. The other hanger will take a screwdriver wedged in the slot to remove it. I would recommend using a phillips (Rounder tip) to prevent from destroying the rubber hanger. WD 40 or other lubricants will aid in the removal as well. I chose to save time and remove the whole exhaust at once. To achieve this, I used a jackstand to support the exhaust while removing it from hangers. The tie bars will need to be removed for the removal and installation.

The stock downpipe is held in place by 2 spring bolts. These can be removed using a 14mm socket.

After removing the downpipe, the doughnut gasket must also be removed. It can be seen in the picture below.

After removing you should see the following below.

O2 housing with no gasket

The downpipe is connected via 2 exhaust hangers flanked on both sides. Remove the bolts with a 14mm socket.

Remove the O2 sensor with an adjustable wrench or O2 socket. Detach exhaust from remaining 2 exhaust hangers and move old exhaust out of the way.

Step 2: Install new exhaust

The new downpipe comes with new bolts to mount to the O2 housing. The factory gasket will not be retained for use with the Buschur downpipe. Bolt the downpipe to the O2 housing with a 17mm socket using the supplied bolts. Connect the downpipe to the exhaust hangers on each side with a the supplied hardware.

Attach the test pipe or high flow cat by slipping it over the downpipe.

Exhaust without band clamps

Seal the seam with pipe band clamps to ensure a leak free seal.

Exhaust with band clamps

Attach other end of cat or test pipe to rear section of exhaust using the band clamps.

Attach muffler to hangers using supplied bolts. Slip muffler over rear section of exhaust and secure with band clamps.
See pictures below for hanger location.

Step 3: Finishing up

The O2 sensor will need to be installed back in the rear section of exhaust. Be very careful while handling the sensor. When reinstalling tie bars, spacers will need to be added in order for the downpipe to clear the tie bars. Buschur supplies the spacers with the accompanied hardware. I would recommend spacing both tie bars for a noise free install.

Double check all nuts and bolts to ensure all are tight. Pay special attention to the band clamps when installing. The ends should be touching when tightened properly.

The completed exhaust can be seen below.
